General practitioners (GPs)  treat common medical conditions and they are the entry point to a wide range of additional healthcare services. They refer people to hospitals and medical services for other urgent or specialist treatment.

LGBT Ireland

LGBT Ireland provides the National LGBT Helpline and additional supports for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The Helpline provides a non-judgmental listening service and our peer support groups provide a space for people to share experiences and support each other. We provide signposting to relevant housing services and supports.

Safe Ireland

Safe Ireland have thirty-seven domestic violence services across Ireland affiliated as members to Safe Ireland. Each deliver various combinations of services to women and children including national and local crisis helpline supports, one-to-one emotional and practical support, information, advocacy, Garda and court accompaniment, therapeutic supports, housing, and welfare advice. Twenty of these services operate staffed refuges.

We provide free confidential and non-judgemental listening and support services, 7 days per week. Our phone lines are geared towards offering support and resources to different areas of the LGBTIQ+ community.

Treoir

We provide a free, confidential, specialist information service for parents not married to each other, living together or apart, their extended families and those working with them. Information is available on legal supports, social welfare supports and parenting issues.

Wexford County Council

Local authorities (otherwise known as city or county council’s) in Ireland are responsible for the provision of public services and facilities such as housing, planning, roads, environmental protection, fire services etc. 

They are the main providers of social housing support for people who cannot afford their own accommodation. Social housing support includes local authority housing and the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). You must make an application to the local authority if you wish to receive social housing supports.
