Personal Data Protection and Data Security
Social media sites have their own terms of service and those posting content need to acquaint themselves with the terms and conditions associated with their use. In some cases, the site will claim control and ownership over everything you have uploaded or disclosed.
Those posting content onto social media sites need to be aware of the particular site's privacy policy and should verify that there is nothing in the content or post that would violate the site’s terms and conditions.
Information posted onto social media sites is likely to be permanently available and may indeed be published on other websites later. Deleting information is unlikely to remove it entirely as there could be multiple copies on the internet. Accordingly, discretion needs to be used when posting content onto social media sites.
The Housing Agency will not attempt to contact you through any of its social media websites or accounts to seek your personal data or banking details. Please do not share any personal data that you may deem to be confidential as it will be publicly available. The Housing Agency has the right to block any users, or remove any content on its social media channels that is not in line with this Policy.
To know more about your data protection rights please visit the Housing Agency’s privacy notice.
The Housing Agency will review this Policy over time in light of any ongoing operational procedural amendments.
