Description
A Rent Pressure Zone (RPZ) is a designated area where rents cannot be increased by more than general inflation, as recorded by the Harmonised Index of the Consumer Price (HICP), or by 2%, if inflation is higher. Under Housing for All, the Government’s plan for housing to 2030, the operation of RPZs has been extended until the end of 2025.
Most recently (September 2024) the following have been designated as RPZs:
- Carrigaline LEA, Co. Cork (redesignation to account for boundary changes in Cork in recent years)
- Galway County Council
