International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS)

IPAS provides accommodation to people who have applied for international protection. It arranges accommodation and co-ordinates other services (including health, social services, welfare and education) for asylum seekers and people who have international protection.

Peter McVerry Trust

Peter McVerry Trust is a national housing and homeless charity committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by substance misuse and social disadvantage. 

The charity provides low-threshold entry services, primarily to younger people and vulnerable adults with complex needs, and offers pathways out of homelessness based on the principles of the Housing First model.

ALONE

ALONE is a national organisation that works with all older people, including those who are lonely, isolated, frail or ill, homeless, living in poverty, or are facing other difficulties. They provide an integrated system of Support Coordination, Practical Supports, Befriending, a variety of Phone Services, Social Prescribing, Housing with Support, and assistive technology.

Department of Social Protection Offices

Focus Ireland Coffee Shop

Focus Ireland is a housing and homelessness charity working to prevent people becoming, remaining or returning to homelessness through the provision of quality services, supported housing, research and advocacy.

The Coffee Shop is an open-access food and advice & information service based in Dublin helping adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The Family Centre based in Dublin provides a range of services for parents, children, and families who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. 

The Probation Service

The Probation Service provides assistance to offenders under probation supervision to identify needs and access services, including accommodation. They also work with partner agencies we try to facilitate accommodation and resettlement needs of offenders into mainstream service delivery.

Residential Tenancies Board (RTB)

The Residential Tenancies Board was set up under the Residential Tenancies Act 2004 to regulate the private rented sector.
The RTB's main functions are to:

  • Maintain a register of private residential tenancies, tenancies of approved housing bodies and student-specific accommodation tenancies
  • Provide a dispute resolution service for tenants and landlords
  • Carry out research into the private rented sector
  • Provide policy advice to the Government on the private rented sector

Tusla

Tusla - Child and Family Agency has responsibility under the Child Care Act 1991 for providing accommodation for people under the age of 18 who are homeless or in need of care. It may also provide aftercare facilities for young people aged over 18 who are homeless or in need of care.
If you are under 18 and homeless, or if you know a young person who is homeless, contact Tusla or the Garda Síochána. They can provide support.

Barka

Barka is a charity based in Dublin working to help people experiencing homelessness. It is a part of world Barka network with branches in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Iceland, having its roots in Poland. Barka IE as an organization was established in 2011 in response to the increasing number of Central and Eastern European migrants sleeping in the streets of Ireland, suffering from homelessness and substance abuse.

Capuchin Day Centre

The centre provides a food service, serving breakfast and lunch six days a week. It provides weekly grocery parcels, family services, clothing, access to showers and hygiene products, and advocacy services. The Centre hosts healthcare clinics with medical, nursing, dental, and chiropody care provided.
