Kilkenny County Council

Local authorities (otherwise known as city or county council’s) in Ireland are the main providers of social housing support for people who cannot afford their own accommodation. Social housing support includes local authority housing and the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). You must make an application to the local authority if you wish to receive social housing supports.

Anybody who has received a notice of termination and/or who has no alternative accommodation can contact their local authority. The Homeless Prevention and Support Officer's first response will be to try to prevent homelessness and to support households to find alternative accommodation.
