Galway County Council

Local authorities (otherwise known as city or county council’s) in Ireland are the main providers of social housing support for people who cannot afford their own accommodation. Social housing support includes local authority housing and the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). You must make an application to the local authority if you wish to receive social housing supports.

Galway County Council Homeless Unit provide a homeless assessment for individuals or families who present as homeless. Referral to Homeless service providers such as COPE Galway and Galway Simon Community are then provided to assist client to address health needs and access homeless services.
