AHBs Signed Up to Regulation

The following is a list of Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) signed up to the Voluntary Regulation Code (the Code). In order to sign up to the Code, each organisation is required to sign a Charter of Commitments (the Charter) and subscribe to the principles of the Code.

The Organisation Listing provided contains the:

  1. Name of the Organisation
  2. Type of Organisation: defined by its' Regulatory 'Tier Level' (see below for detail), and
  3. Date the Charter of Commitment was signed.

Regulatory 'Tier' Level

A fundamental principle behind the Code is that of 'proportionality', as in, more or less regulation will apply depending on the size, scale and level of financial risk asssociated with an organisation. 

There are three organisational classifications, or three Tiers, that apply and AHBs will fall into one of these Tier Levels:

Type of Organisation

Tier 1

AHB with up to 50 units and no development plans

Tier 2

AHB with between 50 and up to 300 units, and/or with development plans to increase stock size (up to 300 units), and/or, are applying for, or are in receipt of loans from the Housing Finance Agency, private finance or other sources (for stock levels of up to 300 units)

Tier 3

AHB with more than 300 units or with development plans to increase stock size (over 300 units), and/or are applying for, or are in receipt of loans from the Housing Finance Agency, private finance or other sources (for stock levels over 300 units)
